Luminari

Luminari are an enigmatic and quirky species. They are jellyfish-like beings that are slightly translucent and come in a stunning array of vibrant colors and patterns which shift and change with their mood and environment. Luminari move around by levitation, like a balloon lazily drifting in a light breeze. They have multiple long, flowing tendrils which are opposable, though weak. Unlike regular jellyfish, these tendrils do not sting.

Luminari Traits

Speed. Slow Speed.

Size. Luminari reach up to 3 feet in height when levitating just above the ground. Their weight averages 10 pounds. Your size is Small.

Lifespan. Luminari live to be around 50 years old.

Frail

Your BODY stat cannot exceed 12.

Telepathy

Luminari cannot speak, but instead communicate telepathically through a rapid jumble of complex emotions and images. You can communicate telepathically with any creature within 30 feet of you that can understand a language that you know. You don't need to share a language with the creature for it to understand your telepathic utterances, but the creature must be able to understand at least one language or be telepathic itself.

Sense Intentions. While telepathically connected to a creature, you can use an action to attempt to read its surface thoughts. The creature is aware of your attempt and can make a MIND saving throw against your MIND DC to shut you out.

Permanent Truths. Lumanari are incapable of lying. You can at best withhold information, but it takes effort for you to do so. When you are in a situation where you are trying to hide information, you must succeed on a DC 15 SOUL saving throw or be compelled to tell the truth.

Levitation

Luminari can levitate up to 5 feet above the ground. You can move over difficult terrain without penalty. You can also move over water and other liquids as if they were solid ground. You can "jump" as per normal movement rules by slapping your tendrils against the ground or other solid surface. You also do not suffer fall damage. When you fall, you simply float gently to within your levitation range.
